a. Windows Collection

During the random walk of Longtang communities around East Nanjing Road in Shanghai, we captured various window facades with a mobile phone, and performing 3D reconstruction using photogrammetry.

b. Characters Collection

We randomly invited pedestrians for full body portrait filming and used AI image-to-3D modeling to generate basic T-pose character models for further animation.

Based on on-site observations, we selected various life scenarios for reenactment and filming, which was used to generate the animated skeleton with AI video motion capture. The animation of each character was completed by binding the skeleton and basic T-pose model together.

c. Environment Setup

Each individual scene combines the scanned window facades with character animations.

Different window scenes are combined into a surreal facade of a huge fictional “collective housing”.
